Learn to Apply Prosthetics Like a Pro!
Applying Prosthetics for Beginners is a hands-on comprehensive course that teaches you how to apply encapsulated silicone prosthetics and prosaide transfers, and preventing common application mistakes.
I'll teach you how to get seamless edges, and what to do to fix them if they're not.
I also go into detail on how you use alcohol paints to match skin tones realistically, and show multiple applications on three different skin tones.
Who is this for?
If it's your first time applying prosthetics and you're looking for help with each step along the way, this course is for you.
I've designed this course for beginners who have never applied prosthetics, through to those who have some experience but want to learn how to correct common issues and get better application results.
I go into depth into what we do, and why, so that you have a well rounded understanding of each step of the process. I also go through troubleshooting common problems, so that I can be as helpful as possible without physically being there with you.
What You Will Learn
Getting Seamless Edges
How to master the sometimes tricky cap plastic edges with silicone prosthetics, and super realistic prosaide transfer edges, to blend seamlessly into the skin around it.
Matching Skin Tones
How to spatter transparent alcohol based paints in layers, to create a realistic skin tone that matches your model (or yourself). Includes multiple application videos on three models, with different skin tones.
Painting Realistic Wounds
How to create depth and avoid muddiness when painting wounds, and which colours to use to replicate real life wound references. Plus how to layer blood realistically, so it looks organic, rather than smeared on.
Follow Along At Home
Using the Freakmo Beginner's Prosthetic Set, available in five skin tones, bought separately on freakmo.com
Apply the same prosthetics in these videos at home, to get hands-on experience applying prosthetics, and painting various wounds including: a fresh wound, a scar, an infected wound, a scabbed wound, and sutures.
Application Kits
I have a limited amount of Application Kits for sale (sold separately from the course), which include most things you will need to apply prosthetics (sans the flammable items so that I can ship them worldwide).
You will find these also on freakmo.com

Hi, I'm Kiana. AKA Freakmo.
I taught myself how to apply prosthetics!
I started dabbling in makeup effects in 2012, with the aid of the internet. The last eight years I've uploaded tutorials to YouTube, amassing a total of 97 million views!
I've also worked on feature films, TV shows, short films, ads, music videos, photoshoots, and museum exhibits. I have worked at four makeup effects studios (include Weta Workshop), working on prosthetics for movies.
I've never attended a makeup school to learn FX makeup, this all started with me teaching myself at home with what resources I could find.
I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't, and over the past several years I've shared that knowledge with millions of viewers on YouTube.
But in the process, I've also learnt that people need more than being shown how to apply it flawlessly, in a fifteen minute quick video. They need guidance around the materials and common mistakes.
They need a way to ask questions and show images for feedback on how to improve. They need someone who has been there, teaching themselves at home, getting frustrated by crinkly cap plastic edges, to guide them through minimising those problem areas.
That's why I created Applying Prosthetics for Beginners, to have something more indepth and helpful than a quick YouTube video. To be able to communicate with my students to give them feedback and answer questions. To help aspiring prosthetic MUA's learn from my successes—and failures—teaching myself these skills.
I love teaching and passing on my knowledge about prosthetic makeup, and I'm excited to get to know you.

"THIS COURSE TAUGHT ME MORE OF THE BASICS THAN MY TWO YEAR SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKEUP DEGREE..."
Gabby Peppler
"This course is a perfect option for both someone who has no experience, and someone with experience in prosthetic application, as Kiana demonstrates in-depth explanations of each step, to ensure you are given as much knowledge as possible, as well as sharing tips and tricks for better application and painting, from her experience in the industry.
This course taught me more of the basics than my two year special effects makeup degree, as well as teaching me new tricks that I wasn't able to learn at that makeup school.
This isn't just a course that teaches you the application of a silicone prosthetic. It’s a course that teaches basic product knowledge, prosthetic creation, colour theory with the inclusion of a variety of skin tones, and the do’s and don'ts of prosthetic application and painting."
